Halifax- and Moncton-based Connexions Productions is rolling on Bedaine, a superhero comedy for Radio-Canada.
The 8 x 30-minute series began principal photography on Sept. 3 and wraps on Oct. 8. Shooting is taking place in Sackville, Moncton and Cocagne, N.B.
The series is directed by Christian Essiambre, with Marcel Gallant serving as producer and Chris Goguen, André Roy and Marc Savoie as executive producers. It will stream on Radio-Canada’s ICI Tou.TV Extra during the 2025-26 season.
Created by and starring Acadian actor and comedian Ryan Doucette (Cloudburst), Bedaine follows a disillusioned and depressed superhero who hides away in his Nova Scotia hometown following the death of his partner, but must rise again when the town is put at risk by an ambitious scientist.
Starring alongside Doucette are Florence Brunet, Sofia Blondin, David Losier, Thomas Beaudoin, Kevin Doyle, Marc Lamontagne, Luc LeBlanc, Ludger Beaulieu, Marko Estrada, Josiane Benoit, Sam Essiambre, Calix Losier Roy and Sabrina Aubé.
Bedaine is supported by Radio-Canada, ICI ARTV, the Canada Media Fund, the NB Film, Television & New Media Industry Support Program and the Nova Scotia Film & Television Production Incentive Fund.
