Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty spiked in demand in the last week of August as the series nears its finale.
The coming-of-age romantic drama (pictured) was 66.8 times more in demand than the average series in Canada during the week of Aug. 25 to 31, according to Parrot Analytics. That represents a jump of more than 10 points from the previous week when it held a demand average of 55.2.
The Summer I Turned Pretty, which remained No. 1 on the digital and overall chart, has seen its on-screen drama seep into reality. The series’ Instagram account has multiple reminders to fans about separating reality from fiction and not harassing or cyberbullying the series’ cast or crew, the most recent post appearing on Aug. 26.
The third and final season, and the series’ dramatic love triangle, comes to an end on Sept. 17.
HBO Max’s Peacemaker maintained its spot as the No. 2 digital original and rose to No. 5 overall. The comic book-based series increased in demand slightly, moving from 36.8 the week before to 40.5. Its second season premiered on Crave in Canada on Aug. 21.
Peacock’s Love Island USA saw a small resurgence in demand in the last week of August following its season seven cast reunion. The dating competition’s demand rose from 31.5 the week prior to 35.5, moving up to No. 3 on the digital chart and No. 8 overall. Its seventh season, available on Crave and CTV in Canada, finished on July 13, while its reunion aired on Aug. 25.

Parrot Analytics calculates its Top 10 lists using Demand Expressions, which are shown by using a metric that demonstrates how much more in-demand the top series are than the average TV show (linear, pay TV, SVOD and AVOD) in Canada. For example, a difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is 10 times more in demand than the average TV show in this market. Demand is defined as the total audience demand being expressed for a title within a market. Audience demand reflects the desire, engagement and viewership, weighted by importance; thus, a stream or download is a higher expression of demand than a “like” or comment.
