Telefilm Canada is supporting five Indigenous film projects with $2.68 million in funding through its Indigenous streams for the Theatrical Documentary Program and the Production Program in the English and French markets.
The funding comes from $4 million earmarked annually for Indigenous creators. The remainder is reserved for Indigenous projects submitted through the Talent to Watch Program and the Development Program.
The five projects were selected via an advisory committee of internal and external Indigenous members out of 22 projects representing more than $16 million in funding requests, according to a news release issued Thursday (July 31).
