Toronto’s Insight Productions has elevated Jessica Brunton, Tanya Low and Eric Abboud to executive roles amid a number of promotions within the company.
Brunton (pictured left) is now chief production officer, promoted from VP of production. She is responsible for overseeing all facets of production, including budgeting and staffing as well as the financing and tax credit analysis.
Low (pictured right) has been promoted to chief development officer from VP of development, where she will continue to oversee the development budget of Insight’s entire slate.
Abboud (pictured centre), VP and showrunner for series such as Flavour Network’s Top Chef Canada since 2016, is now SVP. He also works closely with Insight’s U.S. partners to develop new concepts and business partnerships.
Additionally, Alex Kitz, SVP business and legal affairs, has been promoted to chief business officer and Greg Milo, a challenge producer on CBC’s Canada’s Ultimate Challenge and CTV’s The Amazing Race Canada, to director of operations.
Low and Abboud continue to report to CEO and chair John Brunton, while Kitz and Jessica Brunton report to chief operating officer and general counsel Rahmiel Rothenberg. Milo reports to co-chief content officer Mark Lysakowski.
“We’ve been setting the table for aggressive growth over the last few years, and these promotions are part of that larger strategy,” said John Brunton in a statement. “As we look to increase our global footprint, especially in the U.K., Europe and the U.S., and bring in new business, we’ve enhanced the leadership roles of some key staff members. And we’re focusing substantial resources on our development department and on cultivating partnerships.”
These promotions follow the elevation of Lindsay Cox, Erin Brock and Lysakowski to co-chief content officer roles in May. Insight is set to become a part of Blue Ant Media later this month once Blue Ant’s reverse takeover of Boat Rocker closes. Boat Rocker took full ownership of Insight at the end of 2024 after acquiring a majority stake in 2018.
