Peacock’s Love Island USA (pictured) saw its demand continue to rise in mid-June as the series took the No. 2 spot for overall TV show demand.
The reality dating competition, available in Canada through Crave and CTV, was 49.9 times more in demand than the average TV show in Canada during the week of June 16 to 22, according to Parrot Analytics. Love Island USA‘s demand represents a 13-point jump from the previous week, when it was landed at No. 7 overall.
Love Island USA, based on the original U.K. format, is currently in its seventh season and follows eligible singles living together on a tropical island, competing for a cash prize and pairing up in order to avoid elimination.
Netflix’s Ontario-filmed Ginny & Georgia remained in the No. 1 spot from last week, despite a drop in demand. The series, which released its third season on June 5, had a demand average of 65.6, about seven points lower than the previous week.
Netflix’s Stranger Things landed in the No. 3 spot for digital originals with a demand average of 35.3. The series has seen its demand ebb and flow as it prepares for the premiere of its fifth and final season in November.
Netflix’s Squid Game landed at No. 8 with a demand average of 24.7 in anticipation of the launch of its third and final season on June 27. The series got close to record-high demand at the beginning of the near following the release of its second season.
Prime Video’s Hazbin Hotel, with a demand average of 29.1, and Disney+’s Andor, with an average of 26.4, round out the top five digital originals in mid-June. Andor has maintained strong demand following the release of its series finale on May 13.

Parrot Analytics calculates its Top 10 lists using Demand Expressions, which are shown by using a metric that demonstrates how much more in-demand the top series are than the average TV show (linear, pay TV, SVOD and AVOD) in Canada. For example, a difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is 10 times more in demand than the average TV show in this market. Demand is defined as the total audience demand being expressed for a title within a market. Audience demand reflects the desire, engagement and viewership, weighted by importance; thus, a stream or download is a higher expression of demand than a “like” or comment.
