Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia (pictured) exploded in demand in mid-June following its season three premiere on June 5.
The Toronto- and Cobourg, Ont.-filmed dramedy was 72.7 times more in demand than the average TV show in Canada during the week of June 9 to 15, according to Parrot Analytics. The week of its season three release, Ginny & Georgia landed on the digital chart as the No. 5 with a demand average of 32.1.
The series, which is already renewed for a fourth season, follows a 15-year-old and her mother who move to a new town following the death of her stepfather. It stars Canadians Jennifer Robertson (Schitt’s Creek), Sara Waisglass (Degrassi: The Next Generation), Raymond Ablack (Workin’ Moms), Katie Douglas (Pretty Hard Cases) and Chelsea Clark (Degrassi: Next Class).
Disney’s Phineas and Ferb debuted on the Hot Sheet in the No. 2 overall spot with a demand average of 42.5. The animated series returned for a fifth season, 10 years after the end of its fourth, on June 5.
Over on the digital originals chart, Peacock’s Love Island (U.S.), available in Canada through Crave, moved up to the No. 2 spot with a demand average of 36.9. The dating reality show, based on the U.K. format, premiered its seventh season on June 3. The previous week, the series landed in the No. 4 spot with a demand average of 32.2.
Netflix’s Stranger Things, preparing for its fifth and final season premiere on Nov. 26, slid to No. 3, falling from a digital demand-leading average of 48.2 to 35.1.
Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty emerged in the No. 7 spot with a demand average of 28.6. The coming-of-age drama premieres its third and final season on July 16.
Similarly, Paramount+’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds appeared at No. 8 with a demand average of 28.5 in the lead-up to its season three debut on July 17. The series last appeared on the Hot Sheet through August and September of 2023, during the airing of its second season.

For example, a difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is 10 times more in demand than the average TV show in this market. Demand is defined as the total audience demand being expressed for a title within a market. Audience demand reflects the desire, engagement and viewership, weighted by importance; thus, a stream or download is a higher expression of demand than a “like” or comment.
