The Rockie Awards International Program Competition at the 2025 Banff World Media Festival celebrated the global television industry, featuring 152 nominees from 22 nations.
The awards, hosted by Canada’s Drag Race season one winner Priyanka (pictured), saw CBC’s Leonard Cohen: If It Be Your Will (Peacock Alley Entertainment) win the top Canadian honour, the $25,000 Rogers Prize for Excellence in Canadian Content. BBC’s Ukraine doc Hell Jumper (Expectation Entertainment) won the Grand Jury Prize, awarded to the highest-scoring project in competition and KOTV’s Être ado won the Prix Francophone.
The 2025 ceremony also marked the first time the International Program Competition combined with the Rockie Gala Awards. The previously announced Gala Honours saw the Award of Excellence go to Phil Rosenthal, the Canadian Award of Distinction to Stephan James, the Career Achievement Award to Hans Zimmer with South Korea named as the inaugural Country of Honour.
