Saint-Pierre starts production on season two

Hawco Productions’ police procedural will film in both Saint-Pierre et Miquelon and St. John’s.

CBC’s Saint-Pierre, from St. John’s and Toronto-based Hawco Productions in association with Fifth Season, has begun filming its second season on the French territory Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, about 20 kilometres off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Filming will take place until the end of November with a hiatus for August, a spokesperson for the series told Playback Daily.

The 12 x 60-minute season (pictured), which also shoots in St. John’s, is set to premiere in winter 2026 on CBC and CBC Gem. First greenlit alongside four other CBC original dramas in May alongside Wild Cards (Blink49 Studios, Front Street Pictures, Piller/Segan) and Lark Productions’ Allegiance, among others, this season’s order consists of two more episodes than the first season.

Saint-Pierre, starring Allan Hawco, French actor Josephine Jobert and British actor James Purefoy, is created by Hawco, Robina Lord-Stafford and Perry Chafe, with Hawco and Stafford serving as showrunners and Fifth Season handling global distribution.

The series follows an inspector who, after exposing corruption in Newfoundland, is exiled to the titular French territory where he finds himself teamed with a Parisian cop to solve crimes.
