Cameron Pictures hires Karen Tsang in VP role

The prodco also promoted Caledonia Brown to supervising producer and VP of operations.

Toronto-based Cameron Pictures has appointed Karen Tsang (pictured) to the newly created role of VP of creative affairs.

Effective immediately, Tsang is responsible for overseeing the creative pipeline of the prodco’s original scripted series, reporting to co-founders Tassie and Amy Cameron.

Tsang joined the Law and Order Toronto: Criminal Intent producers from Pier 21 Films, where she was SVP, creative affairs. There she worked on CBC’s Run the Burbs, where she also served as executive producer, as well as the debut seasons of Crave’s Late Bloomer and the Crave/APTN series Don’t Even.

Prior to her time at Pier 21, Tsang spent eight years at CBC, most recently as executive in charge of production, comedy.

“Karen’s passion for creator-driven storytelling, her relationships with buyers and her commitment to collaborating with some of Canada’s most exciting talent will be invaluable as we develop comedy and drama projects for Canadian and international audiences,” said Amy Cameron in a statement.

Cameron’s Caledonia Brown was also promoted to supervising producer and VP of operations from her previous role as coproducer.
