Deals: Postmedia Studios, ATN, Keshet International

Postmedia Studios partners with VEEPS to bring the live concert streaming service to Canada, ATN expands to 54 channels on Rogers, and more.

Postmedia Studios, a division of Postmedia Network, has launched a strategic partnership with L.A.-based VEEPS to bring the latter’s streaming service to Canada.

The subscription-based VEEPS All Access offers livestreamed concerts, music documentaries, comedy specials and artist interviews for either a monthly or annual fee. The service includes Canadian artists such as Alanis Morrissette, Shania Twain, Shawn Mendes, Alessia Cara and Carly Rae Jepsen. It is available on its website as well as Apple TV, Roku, iOS, Samsung and Android.

The company, part of Live Nation Entertainment, was launched by Joel and Benji Madden of the rock band Good Charlotte in 2018.

Postmedia – which owns and operates more than 130 brands across print, online and mobile platforms including newspapers The National Post and The Financial Post – established its studios division in September 2024 via a partnership with L.A.-based content and marketing company Contend.

ATN

Asian Television Network (ATN) is bringing a major boost to its South Asian content lineup in Western Canada, expanding from 12 to 54 channels on Rogers.

The expansion gives viewers access to a wider variety of programming – from Bollywood blockbusters to spiritual content, high-energy music to hard-hitting news – in multiple South Asian languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Urdu, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi and Bengali.

ATN’s current channel offering includes ATN Star Plus, ATN Life, ATN Cricket Plus, and ATN Food Food. Now, the expanded slate covers more ground across genres and regions. Customers can pick and choose individual channels or opt for bundled multicultural packages, a strategic move designed to grow ATN’s subscription revenue by delivering more value per household.

ATN is Canada’s largest South Asian broadcaster and includes a flagship ATN-HD service, seven general-interest Hindi channels, three sports and seven news channels, as well as five dedicated to Bollywood films, and robust regional offerings in Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali, Urdu, Gujarati and Marathi.

Keshet International

Corus Entertainment is among the latest buyers of Keshet International’s unscripted food series Dinner with Gavin Rossdale following its launch at this year’s London TV Screenings.

Corus licensed the series for its Flavour Network. The 6 x 60-minute series from L.A.’s Roundtable Entertainment and New York-based Bungalow Media + Entertainment sees the frontman of the band Bush welcome celebrity guests into his home for a gourmet meal.
