Montreal-based Les Productions Spécimen has begun production on the action drama Faux Gun from Rémi St-Michel (pictured), his first as both writer and director.
Filming began today (May 22) in Quebec and will continue until July 5 across Quebec City, Beauport and Lévis.
Faux Gun is produced by Spécimen’s Jeanne-Marie Poulain and Anaëlle Béglet. H264 is set to distribute the film in 2026.
The feature follows a young man in the Quebec City suburbs who spirals into a life of crime. It features the debuts of Félix Munger, David Beaudoin, Brandon Truong, Chau-Phi Van Quirion, Jenny Mark Turmel Pichette, Mathieu Bourret, Josée Tremblay and Marc-Antoine Munger. Sarah Montpetit and Lou Thompson also star.
Faux Gun was produced with the financial assistance of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, La Société de développement des entreprises culturelles, Telefilm Canada, Spira and Studios Grandé.
