Law & Order Toronto among ACTRA award winners

The 23rd ACTRA Awards were announced yesterday during a ceremony at Toronto’s Koerner Hall.

Citytv’s Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent (Lark Productions, Cameron Pictures) won twice at the 23rd Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) Awards in Toronto.

The awards were presented during a ceremony yesterday (May 8) at Koerner Hall’s Telus Centre for Performance and Learning, intended for ACTRA members in Toronto.

The police procedural (pictured) won the 2025 Members Choice Series Ensemble Award and its stunt ensemble counterpart, for the episode “The Key to the Castle.”

The Outstanding Performance winners are Stefani Kimber for her work in Sarah Galea-Davis’ The Players (Hawkeye Pictures) in the female category, Rick Roberts in Michael Greyeyes’ 33-minute The Light Before the Sun (Blackbird Productions) in the male category, and Rabiya Mansoor in the short film Bad Accountant (Cult Following Pictures, Window Dreams Productions) in the non-binary/gender non-conforming category.

For voice roles, Genevieve Adam was recognized for her performance in the play Deceitful Above All Things (Favour The Brave Collective, Thought For Food Productions) alongside Deven Mack in Netflix’s Sonic Prime (WildBrain, SEGA, Man of Action Entertainment).

Grace Nicolaou-Wood won in the Outstanding Performance – Youth Voice category for her work in CBC’s Let’s Go, Bananas! (9 Story Media Group, Brown Bag Films).

Tony A. Kim won in the commercial category for Walmart Canada’s “Holiday Helpers” ad.

As previously announced, Cotton Mather was presented with the stunt award. Mather has worked on stunts for films such as Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City and Nightmare Alley. Lifetime memberships were presented to Leesa Levinson (Coroner), Eric Peterson (Corner Gas) and Jean Yoon (Kim’s Convenience). As well, actor, comedian and producer Debra McGrath (Little Mosque on the Prairie) was presented with the 2025 ACTRA Award of Excellence.
