The Crossing Productions marks first feature with Mammon

EXCLUSIVE: The production company was co-founded last October by Michael Goitanich, Shant Dolbakian and Ray Xue.

The Crossing Productions is marking their inaugural feature with the psychological horror film Mammon.

The Crossing Productions, based in Toronto, was co-founded by Ray Xue (Extracurricular) and Shant Dolbakian (True Human), the film’s directors, along with Michael Goitanich (The Last), Mammon‘s producer. The feature was shot in Toronto, Hamilton and Collingwood, Ont. and has wrapped production.

The film also utilized virtual production for scenes that were shot on an LED volume wall at SP Studios.

The film follows two paramedics who moonlight as thieves, robbing the homes of the deceased, until they steal a cursed ring that plunges them into a nightmarish hellscape. It stars Adrian Jaworski (True Human), Kathy Rupcic (The Office Movers) and Michael D. Smith (Curse of Aurore).

Mammon is currently in post-production and plans to screen at major genre festivals this year with further distribution details to be announced at a later date. It was financed entirely through private equity investment, Goitanich told Playback Daily.

“We wanted to craft a horror experience that blends visceral psychological terror with haunting, atmospheric visuals,” said Goitanich in a statement. “Our talented cast and crew have brought this vision to life in ways that exceeded our expectations.”

The Crossing Productions was founded in October 2024. The company is focused on producing genre-driven films that elevate human stories, often passed on by major players in the industry, said Goitanich, adding that there are plans to bolster the company’s development and financing departments.
