10e Ave wraps on Lydia and the Mist Rider

The Quebec City studio’s sixth animated feature has a planned theatrical release in the first quarter of 2026.

Quebec City-based 10e Ave Productions has wrapped principal production on its sixth animated feature, the 3D-animated Lydia and the Mist Rider.

The film (pictured) is directed by Emilie Rosas, Philippe Arseneau Bussières and Nancy Florence Savard, who also produced. The screenplay hails from Rosas and is adapted from Le Vaisseau des tempêtes (The Storm Vessel) and Le prince des Glaces (The Ice Prince), two young adult novels by Yves Menard published by Les Éditions Médiapaul in 1996.

The film follows an 11-year-old girl who sets out to search for her brother in the Sea of Mist after he is kidnapped by a sorcerer.

Production started on February 5 2024 and ended May 2 this year, a 10e Ave spokesperson told Playback Daily. The prodco declined to share casting details as of press time.

Lydia and the Mist Rider will be presented at the Cannes Film Market, which runs from May 13 to 21.

The film, set for a theatrical release in Q1 2026, was produced with financial support from La Société de développement des entreprises culturelles, Telefilm Canada, Canada Media Fund, the City of Québec, Shaw Rocket Fund, the Harold Greenberg Fund, Crave, Radio-Canada, Attraction Distribution and Maison 4:3.
