The Disability Screen Office (DSO) has hired Montreal-based writer, director and producer Deydra Baptiste for the newly created program manager role.
Baptiste (pictured) started in the role on April 28, and reports to Alethea Bakogeorge, the DSO’s director of programs and development, a DSO spokesperson told Playback Daily.
Responsible for implementing the DSO’s strategic programs, Baptiste will manage the organization’s MAPPING REPRESENTATION three-year initiative as well as its screen festival accessibility program.
She will also be managing the launch of the DSO’s Industry Resource Hub, which will launch in two phases. Phase one, expected near the end of Q2 2025, will feature a variety of accessibility and disability-related resources. Phase two details have yet to be revealed.
Baptiste was also one of five inaugural participants in the Disabled Producers Lab.
