Creator, executive producer and writer Chuck Lorre has been announced as a keynote speaker for the Summit Series lineup at the 2025 Banff World Media Festival (BANFF).
Lorre (pictured), known as ‘The King of Sitcoms,’ is the prolific producer behind such CBS series as The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men, as well as Netflix’s Kominsky Method and its upcoming Leanne. Lorre was previously recognized with the Sir Peter Ustinov Award in 2012 at the BANFF Rockie Awards.
“Chuck Lorre is a prolific creator who is behind some of the most memorable series and characters in modern history,” said Sean Cohan, BANFF board chair and Bell Media president, in a statement. “His groundbreaking work has shaped generations of storytelling, and we are excited for him to share his unique insights and experiences with the global media community at BANFF.”
Tubi CEO Anjali Sud and Sony Pictures Television chairman Keith Le Goy have also been tapped as keynote speakers for this year’s Summit Series.
The BANFF Summit Series was launched in 2019. Previous speakers include Fox Entertainment CEO Rob Wade, Netflix’s chief content officer Bela Bajaria, Universal Animation Studios president Jeffrey Katzenberg, PBS CEO Paula Kerger, director Paul Feig, actor and writer Sharon Horgan and Warner Bros. Television Studios chairwoman Channing Dungey.
The 46th annual festival runs from June 8 to 11 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Banff, Alta.
