Paramount+ is in development on Canada Shore (working title), the latest Jersey Shore spinoff, from Toronto’s Insight Productions.
The series is set to film this summer with nationwide casting open until April 30.
Insight’s co-chief content officer Erin Brock (pictured) is set as showrunner.
“Canadians have loved this fun, shocking and authentic format since Jersey Shore first debuted in 2009,” said Vanessa Case, VP of content at Paramount+ and Pluto TV Canada, in a statement. “We’re confident audiences will embrace this Canadian iteration, with its larger-than-life personalities, raw drama and those unforgettable moments that define what becoming a Shore family is all about.”
Paramount+ in Canada is also currently home to all seasons of the original and its spinoffs, Jersey Shore Family Vacation as well as Aussie Shore. The Canadian version will now be the 18th spinoff of the original MTV series.
Toronto’s Boat Rocker Media completed its full acquisition of Insight in January. Now, the company is is set to be owned by Blue Ant Media pending regulatory approval of Blue Ant’s reverse takeover of Boat Rocker. At the end of March, Insight signed a development partnership with Groupe Fair-Play for English and French-language formats and series across multiple unscripted sub-genres.
