Prime Video has commissioned two new series from Attraction and actor Martin Matte, respectively.
Hosted by Montreal-born actor and comedian Stéphane Rousseau, Attraction’s Karaoké Club will feature celebrities competing in a karaoke competition. The series will be shot in Montreal.
Prime Video also greenlit the dramedy series Vitrerie Joyal from Matte, written with François Avard. Matte will also star in the lead role. The full cast will be announced at a later date. The series is inspired by Matte’s father, a first-generation entrepreneur who started his own business in the 1990s.
Co-produced by Encore and Matte TV for Amazon MGM Studios, the series has started production and is planned to shoot from May to July in Montreal to stream on the platform in 2026.
“Vitrerie Joyal is a funny, poignant and locally-relevant story that represents Prime Video’s
ongoing commitment to our Quebec audience,” said Brent Haynes, head of originals, Canada, Amazon MGM Studios in a statement.
Lastly, Prime Video greenlit season four of Attraction’s comedic competition series LOL: Last One Laughing Quebec (pictured), hosted by Patrick Huard and also filmed in Montreal.
The series is an adaptation of the Japanese Amazon original, Documental, owned by Yoshimoto Kogyo.
No release date has been announced for LOL: Last One Laughing Quebec or Karaoké Club, although they are expected in late 2025 or early 2026.
