Canada’s Walk of Fame to induct TIFF in June

The honour comes ahead of the Toronto International Film Festival's 50th anniversary.

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has been announced as one of the 2025 inductees for Canada’s Walk of Fame.

The honour comes in advance of the festival rolling out its 50th anniversary edition from Sept. 4 to 14. Announced alongside the festival as an inductee is Isadore Sharp, founder and chairman of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts chain.

TIFF joins previously announced Walk of Fame inductees including Reelworld Screen Institute and Reelworld Film Festival founder and executive director Tonya Williams.

The other 2025 inductees are musician Liona Boyd, cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Tirone David, humanitarian Dr. Samantha Nutt, alt-rock band Our Lady Peace and golfer Mike Weir.

The 2025 Canada’s Walk of Fame Induction Gala takes place on June 14 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. More details on public events and additional 2025 Inductees will be announced in the coming weeks.

Last month, TIFF formed an advisory committee for its 2026 content market launch, with screen industry leaders from Canada, the U.S. and France among its inaugural members.
