Reelworld appoints Sabrina Haloulakos as managing director

Haloulakos will oversee Reelworld's day-to-day operations in the newly created role.

Non-profit organization Reelworld Screen Institute and its associated registered charity Reelworld Foundation have appointed Sabrina Haloulakos to the newly created managing director role.

Haloulakos (pictured right), based in Toronto, began her new role on Monday (Feb. 24).

Working closely with Reelworld executive director and founder Tonya Williams (pictured left), Haloulakos will support Reelworld’s leadership by overseeing day-to-day operations, collaborating with existing partners to strengthen the organization’s capacity as it expands its advocacy and programming efforts.

“I look forward to working with this incredible team to amplify underrepresented narratives and push the industry forward,” said Haloulakos in a statement.

According to Reelworld, Haloulakos, recently relocating to Toronto from Vancouver, brings rich and varied experience to the role, stemming from a background in investment banking, consulting and media.

Haloulakos’ appointment will allow Williams to focus on building the Reelworld Foundation Endowment Fund. “Sabrina’s expertise in HR, finance and the media industry makes her the perfect fit to help us optimize operations and advance our mission,” said the Reelworld founder.
