Toronto’s Blue Ant Media has promoted three executives in its senior leadership team to new positions.
Jamie Schouela (pictured left) has been named chief operating officer; Carlyn Staudt (pictured centre) is now president, global channels and streaming; and Mitch Dent (pictured right) has assumed the role of president, Canadian media.
Effective immediately, all three report to Blue Ant CEO Michael MacMillan.
Based in Toronto, Schouela, previously president of global channels and media, will lead the company’s mergers and acquisitions activity as well as business development while also overseeing some company-wide service groups.
Based in Washington, D.C., Staudt will oversee the company’s international channels business, which includes Love Nature, Declassified, HauntTV, Total Crime, Homeful and Love Pets. She joined the company in 2017, and had been upped to EVP of global channels and streaming last September.
Toronto-based Dent will oversee Canadian operations, including the company’s specialty TV and Canadian free streaming operations, 10 consumer shows and its publishing business. He will also continue to oversee advertising revenue across the company’s portfolio. Dent also joined Blue Ant in 2017, and prior to his promotion served as EVP, consumer shows, media sales and publishing.
Of the promoted execs, MacMillan said in a statement: “Their leadership will be crucial as we build upon our incredible momentum and pave the way for further expansion.”
