Vancouver-based television and streaming service OUTtv has commissioned a third season of the drag design competition series Sew Fierce.
Produced by Caledonia, Ont.-based prodco Sonic Nursery Creative, Sew Fierce follows eight drag designers going head-to-head in weekly competitions for a grand prize and title.
The third season is set to enter production in the fall and launch on OUTtv later in 2025. It will feature returning co-hosts Jaime Lujan (Queens), also known by drag alter ego Lucinda Miu, and British-Canadian drag artist Crystal (Call Me Mother). The eight-episode season will also feature the season one winner Benjamin Toner as a judge.
The first season premiered on OUTtv in April 2023. The second 8 x 60-minute season was released last April, achieving a 21% growth in SVOD viewership, according to the Monday (Feb. 3) release.
“The series has resonated deeply with audiences, offering a unique look into the artistry, creativity and craftsmanship that define the world of drag,” said OUTtv COO Philip Webb in a statement.
The series is currently in the casting phase with the application deadline set for March 15.
