Sphere Media has partnered with former television host Sophie Grégoire Trudeau (pictured) on a six-part docuseries based on her 2024 memoir.
The series is led by Kim Bondi, Sphere Media’s SVP development and content, with Sphere Media and Grégoire Trudeau attached to coproduce. It is based on the bestselling memoir and self-help book Closer Together: Knowing Ourselves, Loving Each Other.
The show will feature Grégoire Trudeau interviewing well-known figures from culture, sports, politics and business about their personal challenges. It will also highlight the work of modern professionals in mental health research and therapy.
Grégoire Trudeau is a former correspondent for CTV’s eTalk and worked as a television and radio host in Quebec. She received the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the United Nations Association of New York in 2018 for her work in mental health, teenage self-esteem and eating disorders. She married Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in 2005. The two separated in 2023.
“Sophie … brings her charisma, compassion and creativity to the project, helping to bring us all ‘closer together’ by breaking down the walls that not only hold us back but, all too often, hold us apart,” said Sphere Media president Marlo Miazga in a statement. “This is combined with Kim Bondi’s renowned power to translate meaningful ideas into thoroughly entertaining content with global reach.”
