Sinking Ship sells Media Stamped to Spanish-language HITN

The series is hosted by Nicole Stamp and aims to help preteens develop media literacy skills.

Toronto-based Sinking Ship Entertainment (SSE) has inked a deal with the U.S. Spanish-language network HITN to air its preteen series Media Stamped.

Media Stamped was greenlit in January 2024 by Telus Independent, a pilot feature doc and limited series program funded by Telus Communications.

The series is aimed at helping nine to 12-year-olds attain media literacy. It is created and hosted by Nicole Stamp, whose previous credits include 10 seasons as a host, director and writer of the live educational show TVOKids (TVO).

The series was produced in partnership with global advocacy group Global Citizen with support from the Shaw Rocket Fund. SSE partner J.J. Johnson also serves as director and executive producer.

In Canada, Media Stamped premiered on Telus TV+ and Telus Optik VOD in October 2024. The series will premiere on HITN in Q2 2025, making it available to approximately 35 million U.S. households, according to a news release.

“We know this series is incredibly timely and essential, and with it we are aiming to empower young people to move from being passive media consumers to thoughtful critical thinkers,” said Kate Sanagan, SSE’s head of sales and distribution, in a statement.
