Vancouver’s Lark Productions has hired former Amazon MGM Studios executive Beth Iley in an expansion of its scripted development team.
Toronto-based Iley has joined as VP, international series development, and will lead the company’s global development and coproduction strategy. She reports to president Erin Haskett and VP, scripted series Nicole Mendes.
Iley will also work closely with Universal International Studios to develop new projects under the company’s first-look distribution deal.
She most recently served as senior development executive at Amazon MGM, working on its Canadian scripted originals for Prime Video. She was an executive producer for The Sticky (Blumhouse Television, Comet Pictures, Megamix, Sphere Media), which will be released on Prime Video on Dec. 6, and was a creative executive on Prime Video docs Mr. Dressup: The Magic of Make Believe (marblemedia) and The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal (Courage Films).
Prior to joining Amazon MGM, Iley was director of development at New Metric Media, working on series such as CTV’s Children Ruin Everything and Crave’s Bria Mack Gets a Life. She was also a producer at Temple Street (now folded into Boat Rocker), working on series like CTV Sci-Fi’s (formerly Space) Orphan Black and Killjoys.
Lark Productions has several scripted series on the go, including Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, which received a two-season order from Citytv in June, and season two of CBC drama Allegiance. The prodco also secured a season four renewal of Global legal drama Family Law earlier this year, ahead of the 2025 release of season three.
“With the domestic and global growth of Lark’s scripted slate, having Beth join is exciting and well-timed,” said Haskett in a statement. “Beth’s stellar reputation and elevated creative taste complements the Lark team’s bold, collaborative approach to producing television.”
“It’s an exciting and busy time for the company, who have found so much success with their talent-driven and market-savvy approach,” added Iley. “I’m looking forward to continuing to cultivate that ethos as we build out our international slate.”
