Aron Levitz has been appointed co-president of the Toronto–headquartered webnovel platform Wattpad alongside former interim president KB Nam.

Levitz will remain as president of Wattpad Webtoon Studios. The new leadership model comes as the company focuses on growth and embarks on a multi-year strategy to improve its core product and enhance community safety, according to a release. Both Levitz and Nam will report to Webtoon Entertainment founder and CEO Junkoo Kim.

Levitz joined Wattpad in 2013 as head of business development and, in 2017, created Wattpad Studios, which focused on film and TV adaptations of publications from Wattpad creators. Later, the studio would also expand with Wattpad Books.

Prior to joining Wattpad, Levtiz held roles at Research In Motion, now BlackBerry Limited, as director of content acquisition and entertainment, and at the Toronto-based Xtreme Labs as director of strategic alliances.

In 2021, Wattpad was acquired by the South Korea-founded, Los Angeles-based Webtoon and Levitz was named president of the newly created Wattpad Webtoon Studios.

The studio is involved in several Canadian productions including the Tubi-commissioned Sidelined: The QB and Me (formerly titled The QB Bad Boy and Me), based on a Wattpad novel by Tay Marley from Vancouver-headquartered Thunderbird Entertainment subsidiary Great Pacific Media.

Prior to Webtoon’s acquisition, Wattpad Studios also partnered with Toront0-based Collective Pictures to adapt Kate Marchant’s Wattpad teen romance Float.
