Montreal director Anne Émond has wrapped filming on her latest feature, Adam.
Production wrapped on Saturday (Oct. 19) in the Greater Montreal Area and in Ontario and marks the director’s sixth feature, which she both wrote and directed. The film is produced by Metafilms’ Sylvain Corbeil (Falcon Lake) and executive produced by Marie-Claire Lalonde (The Beast).
Adam will be distributed by Immina Films for a theatrical release in 2025. The film received financial support from Telefilm Canada, SODEC and Noovo.
The film focuses on a kennel owner suffering from depression and anxiety, played by Patrick Hivon (My Brother’s Wife; pictured left), who falls in love with a northern Ontario mother, played by Piper Perabo (Covert Affairs; pictured right). Adam also stars Gilles Renaud (Une journée en taxi), Elizabeth Mageren (Discussions Avec Mes Parents), Éric K. Boulianne (Viking), Connor Jessup (Locke and Key) and Gord Rand (Orphan Black).
“It’s been a pure joy to shoot this film with Piper and Patrick. They have incredible chemistry, they are generous, invested and full of charm,” said Émond in a statement.
Émond’s previous feature films include Nuit #1, Our Loved Ones and Nelly.
