Vancouver-based Studio BRB has partnered with 1111 Film Group on a holiday rom-com from one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The companies have optioned a script by Sutton Stracke and Jeff Festa, a development exec at Hollywood prodco 32 Flavors. The deal marks Studio BRB’s first collaboration with 32 Flavors, led by Alex Baskin, an executive producer on series such as Vanderpump Rules and several titles from the Real Housewives franchise.
The untitled film follows a wealthy socialite who schemes with her friends to get revenge on her husband by New Year’s Eve after he leaves her for a younger woman.
The script is in the final stages of development and is being shopped directly to networks this fall, according to a spokesperson for Studio BRB.
“Alex owns this world. We are excited to bring the scripted production knowledge to his empire with this heart-warming movie that is filled with easter eggs for lovers of the Housewives franchises,” said Studio BRB co-founder Jenni Baynham in a statement.
Studio BRB inked a partnership with Endemol Shine North America earlier this year to develop an unscripted social experiment format.
