Super Channel launches history, science-themed channel Quest

The new channel will feature docuseries and documentaries focused on real life mysteries and science.

Edmonton-headquartered Super Channel has launched a new offering among its suite of specialty channels.

Super Channel Quest is designed to appeal to history, science, paranormal and mystery buffs by offering a mix of docuseries and documentaries covering subjects in the various genres. Other Super Channel offerings including Heart & Home, Fuse and Vault. The channel replaces the gaming-themed Ginx TV Canada.

All docuseries currently on Super Channel Fuse (with the exception of true-crime) will move over to the new channel, including Mysterious Islands and Secrets of Big Data from Toronto-based Shark Teeth Films, Forgotten Frontlines and Mysteries of the Ancient Dead from Toronto’s Go Button Media, and Ancient Bodies: Secrets Revealed and Ghosts Off Grid from Winnipeg-headquartered Farpoint Films, among others.

New content coming to the channel include season two of Cursed Histories from Go Button Media, which delves into the legends that have brought waves of misfortune into the world; the all-new series I Died… And Came Back from Farpoint Films, which follows the true story of real people who crossed over to the other side, and then somehow managed to return; and season four of Secrets In The Ice (pictured) from Shark Teeth Films, which takes viewers to the most remote and inhospitable places on the planet, revealing great mysteries once frozen in time.

“We’re proud to launch Super Channel Quest with 100% Canadian content, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of our producers,” said Super Channel CCO Kim Ball in a statement. “As the channel evolves, it will potentially include a mix of both homegrown and foreign content that fits the genre.”
