Web series The Runner heads to Hamilton, Toronto for season two

Filming for the N5 Pictures-produced series begins on Sept. 6 and wraps on Sept. 18.

Mississauga, Ont.-based N5 Pictures is in pre-productionin Hamilton, Ont. and Toronto on the second season of the web series The Runner.

Filming begins on Sept. 6 and will continue until Sept. 18 with Ant Horasanli, who was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for the first season, returning as director.

Filming locations for the second season include the Zen Lounge in Hamilton, Ont., a downtown Hamilton apartment and Kensington Market in Toronto.

The Runner stars Charles-Hugo Desrochers (pictured) and Daley Blake Smith, and follows a young man as he is entangled in Toronto’s criminal underworld in order to find answers about his missing brother.

The new season will stream on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV and others as part of a partnership with IndieStream.

The second season is produced with support from Ontario Creates and the Canada Media Fund.

Season one of The Runner received more than $125,000 in sales revenue and more than 500,000 views on YouTube for its trailer and first episode.
