The T.O. Webfest has set the finalists for its inaugural short-form series pitch competition.
The Next Up! Live Pitch Competition will take place on Sept. 18 at the Novotel Toronto Centre, where finalists will have five minutes to make their pitch to a designated jury.
The winning project will receive a cash prize of $1,000 for development funding and consultations with an L.A. executive. The jury has not been announced at press time.
The participants and projects in the competition are Alice Wang (Lakeside FC), Brigitte Sachse (Equilibrium), Cicy Nie (It Rains Wherever I Go), Isabella Shibuta (Alice is Asian) and James Jordan (Rhythm and Language).
Finalists for the pitch competition will receive three coaching sessions with T.O. Webfest presenter WebSeries Canada on their pitch materials ahead of Sept. 18. The competition is sponsored by the Canada Media Fund.
T.O. Webfest runs from Sept. 17 to 18.
