Bell Fibe TV1 has ordered the series Cows Come Home from co-creators Lindsey Middleton and Katie Uhlmann.
The original comedy series is written by the duo, with Middleton (pictured left) also starring, and Uhlmann (pictured right) directing all six episodes. Filming is scheduled to begin in fall in Fort Erie, Ont., where the series is set.
Cows Come Home follows the misadventures of a woman who finds herself reluctantly returning to her small hometown in search of a fresh start where she discovers an unlikely source of solace in the world of competitive cow showing.
The series is expected to launch on Fibe TV1 in spring 2025, and will be available on-demand for Fibe TV subscribers.
Cows Come Home is produced by Middleton’s Belleview Creative and Uhlmann’s Katie Chats. David Carruthers (Handmaid’s Tale) and Keri Ferencz (Hudson & Rex) are executive producers.
“It’s important for me to highlight the humour and heart of small-town life, while also inviting audiences into the unique world of competitive cow showing, something I really enjoyed throughout my childhood,” said Middleton in a statement.
Uhlmann directed the 2024 short film When you Know you…Know? and also co-wrote, produced and directed two seasons of the comedy series My Roommate’s an Escort. Middleton is the co-creator and producer of the Roku Channel show Just Hysterics.
Uhlmann is represented by oscars abrams zimel + associates. Middleton is repped by Catalyst TCM.
