The new round of funding gives support to eleven companies and television series.

The Independent Production Fund (IPF) has announced the 2024 funding slate for the Cogeco TV Production Program. More than $2.4 million will be given to support 11 companies and television series – seven English- and four French-language projects.

The Cogeco TV Production Program provides Canadian indies with financing for the creation of dramatic television series and mini-series.

Receiving investment in 2024 are Lark Productions for Allegiance (Season 2, broadcast on CBC); Sphère Médias for Anticosti (Corus/Série Plus); Encore Télévision’s Bête noire  (Season 3, Corus/Série Plus); Gazelle Automations series Go Togo (Season 2, CBC); Productions KOTV’s LIAM (Télé-Québec) and Connections Productions/Productions Casablanca for Mont-Rouge (Season 2, SRC/ICI télé/ICI ARTV).

Also receiving funds are Shaftesbury’s Murdoch Mysteries (Season 18, CBC); Hawco Productions’ Saint-Pierre (CBC), Banger Media’s Seoul Palace (Crave); Little Engine Moving Pictures’ Tiny and Tall (TVO/Knowledge); and Marble Media’s Tralala (CBC).

Since its inception, the IPF has invested more than $92 million in 1,185 projects, including 123 short form series development projects, 178 short form series, 334 TV productions and over 550 professional development projects.

In 2018, Cogeco redirected its annual BDU contributions to the IPF and established the Cogeco TV Production Program under the IPF umbrella in order to continue its support for television drama series. Since then, 83 projects have received $15M production funding.
