YouTube ups Lindsay Doyle to lead policy work in Canada

Doyle assumes the role of head of government affairs and public policy in Canada, previously held by Jeanette Patell.

YouTube has named Lindsay Doyle (pictured) as its new head of government affairs and public policy in Canada.

The promotion is effective today (May 13), according to a spokesperson for YouTube. Doyle previously served as manager of government affairs and public policy for Google Canada.

She assumes the role previously held by Jeanette Patell, who was elevated to a director role in Google Canada’s government affairs team.

Doyle has spent the last six years doing policy work with Google Canada, with a focus on online harms and disinformation, trade, financial services and AI. She has also worked closely with philanthropic arm Google.org to prioritize key partnerships with Canadian organizations.

“I look forward to spending time meeting and connecting with the creators shaping our creative ecosystem and championing their significant contributions to the Canadian economy,” said Doyle in a statement.
