Couronne Nord acquires rights to Emmanuelle Pierrot novel

A film version of La version qui n'intéresse personne will be directed by Myriam Verreault.

M ontreal prodco Couronne Nord has acquired the film rights to La version qui n’intéresse personne from Quebec publishing house Le Quartanier.

Emmanuelle Pierrot’s award-winning first novel will be adapted into a film, directed by Myriam Verreault. Couronne Nord’s Julie Groleau will produce the film.

The story follows a woman and her best friend as they leave Montreal to live in a remote community in Yukon, until one betrays the other.

La version qui n’intéresse personne won the Prix littéraire des collégien·ne·s and was a finalist in the Prix des libraires du Québec and the Prix littéraire France-Québec in 2024.

Verreault is a screenwriter and director whose credits include West of Pluto and Kuessipan. In 2023, she produced the TVA series Sorcières.

Pierrot said in a statement that she trusts Verreault to be faithful to the essence of her novel, praising the director’s past films.
