Hot Sheet: Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender soars in demand

NBC's Saturday Night Live moved to the second spot on the TV chart after a spike in demand.

Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has flown into the second spot on the digital originals demand chart in Canada.

Avatar: The Last Airbender, a live-action remake of the animated series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, was 24.42 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada for the week of Feb. 26 to March 3, according to Parrot Analytics. The series, which premiered on Feb. 22, debuted on the digital chart at No. 2 and was No. 5 on the overall TV chart.

The series bumped Crave’s Letterkenny (23.43) down to the fourth spot. Prime Video’s Hazbin Hotel continued to top the digital chart and the overall TV list with an average of 57.31 demand points. Netflix’s Stranger Things completed the top three, holding onto its spot from the previous week with an average of 24.3 demand points.

FX’s Shogun, which was primarily shot in B.C., entered the digital list at No. 8, with an average of 17.09 demand points.

On the TV chart, NBC’s Saturday Night Live (49.87) moved up one spot after gaining more than 13 demand points. Max’s Sesame Street (34.5) also saw a slight increase in demand.

HBO’s Game of Thrones (29.47), AMC’s Breaking Bad (26.77), and NBC’s The Voice (U.S.) (26.49) were the new entries on the list from the previous week.
