Crave and APTN lumi original drama Little Bird, CBC comedy Sort Of, and the feature film BlackBerry lead the nominees for the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards (CSA).
The Academy Of Canadian Cinema & Television announced the CSA nominees across 156 television and film award categories on Wednesday (March 6).
Little Bird (Rezolution Pictures, OP Little Bird) led the pack with 19 total nominations, followed close behind by CBC’s Sort Of (Sphere Media) with 18. Meanwhile, BlackBerry (Rhombus Media, Zapruder Films) earned a record-breaking 17 film nods.
The nominees for Best Drama Series are Little Bird, CBC’s Essex County (First Generation Films, 171 Studios) and Plan B (KOTV), Hollywood Suite’s Slasher: Ripper (Shaftesbury), and CTV’s Transplant.
The Best Comedy Series contenders are CTV’s Shelved (Counterfeit Pictures), CBC’s Son of a Critch (Project 10 Productions, Take the Shot Productions) and Workin’ Moms (Wolf + Rabbit Entertainment), and Crave’s Bria Mack Gets A Life and Letterkenny, both produced by New Metric Media.
The Best Motion Picture nominees are BlackBerry, Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person (Art et essai), Infinity Pool (Film Forge, Elevation Pictures), Red Rooms (Nemesis Films), Richelieu (Le Foyer Films) and Solo (Bravo Charlie).

The 2024 CSAs will be handed out across six ceremonies between May 28 to 31, culminating in a one-hour broadcast on CBC and CBC Gem on Friday, May 31.
