London-based distributor Rainmaker Content has extended its collaboration with Toronto-based indie No Equal Entertainment to include three new scripted drama series: The Collector: Redux, The Work and Erratic.
The partners have worked together since 2020, when the U.K. mediaco acquired the distribution rights to original supernatural thriller The Collector. The deal will see Rainmaker package and sell all three projects.
The Collector: Redux reboots the format, which ran for 40 episodes across three seasons and was sold in more than 65 territories. Skander Halim (The Unicorn, Ghosts) is attached as lead writer, co-developing the effort with original series co-creator, Jon Cooksey (Killjoys, Arctic Air).
Anthony Q. Farrell (Shelved), meanwhile, will pen the procedural drama The Work (10 x 60-minutes). The series follows the professional and personal lives of a team of social workers at Detroit’s Department of Health and Human Services.
Finally, No Equal and Matt Wexler’s WexWorks Media will co-develop and coproduce crime series Erratic. The project is based on the novel by Canadian physician, academic and author Gretchen Roedde, and will mark Wexler’s first foray into drama series following his work in half-hour family series like PAW Patrol, Holly Hobbie and The Popularity Papers.
“No Equal has long and strong track record in scripted, as is demonstrated by the global success of the original Collector series,” said Greg Phillips, co-CEO of Rainmaker, in a statement. “The demand for strong stories told by master storytellers still outstrips supply, as the world’s broadcasters seek to distinguish themselves with fresh and original shows. These three new series are a tribute to No Equal’s talent for engaging with diverse voices to create drama with universal appeal — and a great addition to Rainmaker’s scripted catalogue.”
