Ontario’s French-language public broadcaster, TFO, has appointed Sonia Boisvert as VP, content and production.
Boisvert will be responsible for content development, production, acquisition and broadcasting at TFO, succeeding outgoing content executive Claude Sauvé, who announced plans to retire late last year.
Sauvé will remain with TFO as special advisor until the end of March, according to a news release.
Boisvert has spent more than 25 years at CBC/Radio-Canada, starting as an associate producer at CBC in Toronto before taking on increasingly more senior roles.
During her tenure, she served as head of news and information programming at Radio-Canada in Toronto, head of content for Ici Premiere in Montreal and, most recently, senior manager of programming and development in Toronto, where she oversaw 45 hours of radio programming every week.
“Ms. Boisvert stands out for her knowledge of Francophone communities and her collaborative spirit,” said TFO CEO Michelle Séguin in a statement. “She will add her perspective to the work already well underway by TFO to remain a relevant and discoverable medium for our audiences. Ms. Boisvert will continue to bring a vision that will make the richness of our Franco-Ontarian and Francophone minority communities in Canada shine on our screens.”
