Veteran producer Archita Ghosh has been named president of Montreal prodco Rezolution Pictures.
Ghosh, the co-founder and former CFO of animation house E.D. Films, will work closely with the Rezolution team to develop and execute a strategic plan aimed at supporting the company’s goal to grow as an innovative production house. She has also been tasked with developing Indigenous and culturally-driven animated projects to add to Rezolution’s slate.
The appointment was announced by Rezolution’s co-founders Ernest Webb and Catherine Bainbridge in a news release on Thursday (Jan. 25). Ghosh assumed the newly created role on Jan. 8.
Ghosh brings more than 25 years of experience to the company, with expertise in strategic planning, international business and finance, as well as a wide network in the multimedia and animation industries. She has been a board member of the Canadian Media Producers Association since 2020.
“With its deep, rich catalogue of projects and so much more in the works, the global marketplace holds a bright future for Rezolution — and I wholeheartedly embrace the opportunity and challenge to help take it there,” said Ghosh in a statement.
Added Webb: “We couldn’t be more excited to have Archita join us to continue serving our vision and work on solidifying our legacy. With so many incredible stories yet to be told by so many up-and-coming talented creatives, we are honoured to have Archita’s expertise and experience to help bring these stories to the world.”
Rezolution’s slate of work includes the Emmy-nominated Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World, the Gemini- and Peabody-winning Reel Injun, and most recently, the Crave and APTN lumi limited series Little Bird.
