HGTV Canada has greenlit season two of Corus Studios original Renovation Resort, produced by Toronto’s McGillivray Entertainment Media (MEM).
The new season will showcase four renovation and design duos competing to create the ultimate vacation rental. Hosted and judged by HGTV Canada mainstays Scott McGillivray and Bryan Baeumler, the 8 x 60-minute season will be available to stream live and on-demand on StackTV.
Casting is underway for the new season, with MEM looking for four pairs of renovation professionals to transform empty spaces into unique vacation properties, including renovating the resort’s cabins and creating multi-season outdoor spaces. The winning team will be crowned the “Renovation Resort Champion” and receive a $100,000 prize.
According to Numeris PPM data, the series ranked as the No. 1 Canadian original series on specialty in spring 2023.
The show follows hot on the heels of season five of Scott’s Vacation House Rules, which features McGillivray and design partner Debra Salmoni helping homeowners turn their vacation properties into profitable paradises. Season six of the Corus Studios series is currently in production and expected to premiere in 2025.
Both Renovation Resort and Scott’s Vacation House Rules are produced by MEM, with Kelly Wray serving as executive producer. Debbie Brown is HGTV Canada’s executive in charge of production for Renovation Resort, and Dora Fong is the HGTV Canada executive in charge of production for Scott’s Vacation House Rules.
