Clerisy Entertainment taps Jon Mann to lead development

Mann joined the Dartmouth, N.S.-based production company effective Jan. 2.

Filmmaker Jon Mann has been hired as head of development at Dartmouth, N.S.-based prodco Clerisy Entertainment.

Mann assumed the newly created role on Jan. 2, and is tasked with leading a team to development content in genres such as history, lifestyle, health and paranormal subjects, according to a news release.

The writer-director-producer is an Acadia University graduate in political science and alumnus of the New York Film Academy, and has years of experience in the documentary and scripted space, beginning with his 2012 short documentary Drink ‘Em Dry. He wrote and directed the 2014 feature-length documentary Project Power.

In 2018, Mann participated in the National Screen Institute’s Totally Television program for his pilot Wolfville, which was optioned by Allan Hawco and Take The Shot Productions. In 2020, he created and directing the series Pub Crawl, which aired for two seasons on Bell Fibe TV. In 2022, he served as associate producer for the Oscar-qualifying film North Star.

Clerisy Entertainment has a catalogue of more than 60 hours of documentary specials, including Generation We (2019) and The Big Question (2020).
