CTV orders season 10 of The Amazing Race Canada

The ninth season of the travel competition series pulled in an average of 1.7 million viewers, according to Numeris.

CTV has renewed the travel competition series The Amazing Race Canada for a tenth season.

The renewal was announced ahead of the season nine finale on Tuesday (Sept. 19), which marked the 100th episode of the series.

The Amazing Race Canada, hosted by Olympic gold medallist Jon Montgomery, is produced by Boat Rocker’s Insight Productions, in association with CTV. Mark Lysakowski is the showrunner and executive producer alongside John Brunton.

The latest season saw 10 teams travel across six provinces, 11 cities, and more than 12,000 kilometres across Canada.

The Amazing Race Canada season nine was the “top summer program among total viewers and all key demos, and the top Canadian program for the 2022-23 broadcast year, with a season average of 1.7 million viewers,” according to a news release that cited Numeris.

Justin Stockman, VP, content development and programming, Bell Media, said in a statement that in season 10 “race fans can expect to see some of our ‘greatest hits,’ in addition to new destinations that tell a unique Canadian story.” Casting details for season 10 will be announced soon, said the release.
