Pixcom hires documentary producer Alexandra Cliche-Rivard

Cliche-Rivard will work with collaborator Sofi Langis to develop and produce docuseries for the Montreal prodco.

M ontreal’s Pixcom has brought on producer Alexandra Cliche-Rivard (pictured) to help bolster the company’s international documentary series portfolio.

In her new role, which began this week, Cliche-Rivard is tasked with developing and producing docuseries for the prodco. She will work with collaborator Sofi Langis, who also joins Pixcom in a freelance capacity, a spokesperson for Pixcom tells Playback Daily. Cliche-Rivard reports to Pixcom president Nicola Merola.

Formerly a producer with Vice, Cliche-Rivard also co-founded the prodco Impact with Langis, which she ran for four years. Impact’s notable productions include On Firm Footing, Climate Disorder, Health at Risk and Blue Gold Rush.

“Joining Pixcom is the result of a great deal of reflection and a shared vision aimed at rapidly multiplying the development and production of major influential series,” said Cliche-Rivard in a statement.

“Her bold entrepreneurial spirit and ability to create exceptional content make her an invaluable asset to Pixcom,” added Merola and SVP content Charles Lafortune in a joint statement.

Pixcom’s recent series include You Can’t Ask That (CBC), Meanwhile in the Kitchen (Prime Video), Restoration Garage (Discovery) and Wong & Winchester (Citytv), among others.
