Crave orders comedy Made for TV with Boman Martinez-Reid

The 6 x 30-minute scripted series features the TikTok star as he attempts to break through in the world of television.

Bell Media’s Crave has commissioned a new scripted comedy series centred on Canadian content creator and TikTok star Boman Martinez-Reid from Toronto prodco Alibi Entertainment.

The 6 x 30-minute series Made for TV with Boman Martinez-Reid will film in Toronto, with production dates and additional cast to be announced soon, according to a news release.

Made for TV with Boman Martinez-Reid is produced by Alibi Entertainment, in association with Crave. Natalie Metcalfe is the series creator and showrunner, and also serves as executive producer alongside Martinez-Reid and Alibi’s James Hyslop.

The series will mix elements of sitcoms, mockumentaries, and reality shows, as the social media personality, who was a judge on the Crave original series, Canada’s Drag Race, tries to make the transition into the world of television “with the help of celebrity advisors and ‘real’ people,” said the release.

“Throughout my journey, I have really enjoyed producing short-form content and now, I am eager to delve into the realm of long-form storytelling and producing for television as it has always been a dream of mine,” said Martinez-Reid in a statement.
