Canadian broadcaster Hollywood Suite has extended its partnership with Toronto prodco 5’7 Films, led by Adam Rodness (pictured right) and Stu Stone (pictured left), with a two-year multi-picture slate agreement.
The partnership was first formed after Hollywood Suite acquired the prodco’s 2020 film Faking a Murderer, a genre-hybrid film that blurred lines between reality and fiction from the multi-hyphenate duo, according to a news release.
While no titles under the renewed deal have been announced, 5’7 Films will go to camera on a project this fall that will see Rodness and Stone reprise their Faking A Murderer personas.
“This ongoing partnership underscores our dedication to building Canadian filmmaking talent and bringing our audience the very best in creative storytelling,” Sharon Stevens, VP of programming at Hollywood Suite, said in a statement.
Meanwhile, 5’7 Films’ 2022 heist comedy Vandits, which premiered on Hollywood Suite last December following a national theatrical run, has now been acquired by Quiver Distribution for a U.S. debut. The release date will be confirmed “shortly,” said the release.
The film stars Canadian musician and actor Jann Arden (Jann), Enrico Colantoni (Flashpoint), Tony Nappo (Faking A Murderer) and Robb Wells (Trailer Park Boys).
