Greg Mason appointed president of Canadian Picture Pioneers

Outgoing president Jason Fulsom will remain as treasurer at the national charitable organization.

Canadian Picture Pioneers (CPP) has named Mason Marketing Solutions (MMS) head and former Disney marketing executive Greg Mason as its new president.

The board of directors for the charitable organization that’s devoted to the country’s motion picture industry unanimously approved his appointment during a meeting held on June 1 at ShowCanada in Vancouver, according to a news release.

His appointment is effectively immediately and replaces outgoing president Jason Fulsom, who will remain on the board of directors’ executive committee as treasurer.

Mason has served on the CPP board for 16 years, including five years as VP, and is currently president and CEO of marketing firm MMS, which he founded.

His previous roles include VP, marketing of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Canada, where he stewarded all studio marketing efforts in the country and was responsible for the launch of Disney+ on this side of the border.

Mason has also been VP, marketing at Cineplex Entertainment, and held key marketing and sales positions within Coca-Cola Ltd. and The Walt Disney Company.

The CPP release expressed its “deepest appreciation” for Fulsom’s “outstanding leadership and invaluable contributions during his five-year tenure.”

“Greg’s visionary leadership, wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to excellence will help drive Canadian Picture Pioneers to new heights of success,” added the release.
