Apple TV+ orders more Peanuts content from WildBrain

The streamer will launch new series Camp Snoopy in 2024, along with a special focusing on a lesser-known character named Franklin.

A pple TV+ has ordered another round of Peanuts content for its kids and family library, greenlighting a new series and a special from Toronto-headquartered kids and family entertainment company WildBrain for 2024.

Charlie Brown and his friends go to summer camp in Camp Snoopy, while Snoopy earns badges with his fellow “Beagle Scouts” to keep his troop from disbanding, according to a news release announcing the streamer’s kids and family slate. The premiere date is yet to be announced.

Apple TV+ has also ordered a new special called Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin (pictured), which centres on a lesser-known character from the Peanuts canon as he struggles to make friends.

A third season of WildBrain’s The Snoopy Show launches on the streamer on June 9, followed by the new special Snoopy Presents: One-of-a-Kind Marcie in August. This one-off stars the gang’s resident introvert, who is happy to stay in the background and help her friends solve their problems.

In September, the Peanuts Anthology III and IV will arrive on Apple TV+, featuring a slew of classics from Mendelson/Melendez Productions and Peanuts Worldwide.

Apple TV+ made a major commitment to Peanuts in 2020 when it acquired all of the brand’s holiday content and signed a deal with WildBrain for new shows and specials.

Earlier this month, WildBrain promoted Josh Scherba to president and CEO, replacing Eric Ellenbogen, who stepped down from his position as CEO and vice chair.
