Hot Sheet: Letterkenny cracks digital originals top five

Meanwhile, Pascal-mania shows no signs of slowing down as the actor's two series continue to occupy three of the top spots on the overall TV and digital originals charts.

It was a big week for the small-town characters of Crave’s Canadian comedy series Letterkenny as it landed at fifth place on the digital originals chart.

Produced by Toronto prodco New Metric Media and set in rural Canada, Letterkenny (pictured) is created by and stars Jared Keeso, who also created and stars in the spin-off series Shoresy. While there was a slight dip in demand from the week before, the series moved up a spot and was 15.42 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada for the week of Feb. 20 to 26, according to Parrot Analytics.

The Mandalorian, Disney+’s intergalactic epic starring Pedro Pascal, maintained its position at the top of the digital originals charts, as well as No. 3 for overall TV with an average of 30.29, up from 28.62 the prior week.

Pascal’s other series, HBO’s Alberta-shot series The Last of Us, claimed the No. 1 ranking on the overall TV chart. The zombie thriller was 40.94 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada, up from last week’s average of 37.15.

For digital originals, Paramount+’s Star Trek: Picard, which streams on Crave in Canada, remained at No. 5 and was 25.48 times more in demand than the average TV series compared to last week’s 23.76. The series also remained at No. 5 for the overall TV chart.

Meanwhile, Comedy Central’s South Park didn’t lose any of the momentum from the previous week, and was No. 2 for overall TV for the second week in a row with an average of 40 for this week’s episode, up from 37.13.

Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants jumped six spots to No. 4 for overall TV and was 25.99 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada, up from 21.76. TVOKids’ Paw Patrol (23.77) dropped two spots to No. 6 while The Owl House (22.03) and Love Island UK (21.35) broke into the top 10 at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.

For example, a difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is ten times more in demand than the average TV show in this market.
