A ctor Pedro Pascal has maintained his place in the Canadian zeitgeist, with two of his series storming the audience demand charts for another week.
HBO’s Alberta-shot series The Last of Us (pictured), an adaptation of Naughty Dog’s video game of the same name, skyrocketed from No. 8 to No. 1 on the overall TV chart. The zombie thriller starring Pascal was 37.15 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada for the week of Feb. 6 to Feb. 12, according to Parrot Analytics.
Pascal’s other series, Disney+’s The Mandalorian, held firm to the top spot on the digital originals chart after a similar ascent up the rankings, with a result of 19.4 times more in demand, despite a decline from 23.2 in the previous week. The series fell out of the top 10 of the overall TV chart after ranking No. 2 the prior week.
It was an eventful week for Paramount+ as it claimed three spots in the top six of the digital originals TV rankings, including 1923 (17.78) at No. 2, Star Trek: Picard (16.83), which streams on Crave in Canada, at No. 4 and Mayor of Kingstown (13.86) at No. 6.
NBC’s Saturday Night Live fell slightly from No. 1 to No. 2 on the overall TV chart despite its increased demand with an average of 30.76 compared to last week’s 27.1, when Pascal hosted.
Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants broke into the top 10 for overall TV, claiming the No. 3 spot and was 27.01 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada for that period. TVOKids’ Paw Patrol moved up a spot to No. 4 with an uptick in demand at 25.24 compared to 22.91 the week before, while Crunchyroll’s One Piece and My Hero Academia remained the most in demand anime on the overall TV charts.
Streaming alongside The Last of Us on Crave is Letterkenny in the fifth spot for Canadian digital originals demand, while the first half of Netflix thriller You’s fourth season managed to stalk its way into the top 10.

For example, a difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is ten times more in demand than the average TV show in this market.
